After 6 years busking full time in the cold streets of London and touring with his previous bands around Uk and Italy, Francis Jupiter spent the quarantine focusing on his own music and art and finally decided to embrace a new challenge, starting his solo project in 2022.
Singer, Songwriter, Animator, Video Maker and Illustrator, Francis grew up in the artistic environment of his family and described himself as a guy who never left Neverland.
How long have you been creating music?
I’ve started playing music back in high school and did a lot of several experiences with my previous bands. In January 2022 I decided to try this new adventure and started my very first solo project.
Do you have a preferred genre?
Indie-Pop/ Pop-Rock
Tell us about your latest song, EP, or album.
Brooklyn is the story of what I’ve been through when I moved to NYC. I was 18 and full of hopes and one day I bought a one-way ticket to challenge myself. 5 months of ups and downs that made me understood what I really wanted to do with my life. It’s my message to all the young dreamers out there: Keep dreaming but be ready to fail, it’s part of the process.
Are there any challenging aspects to writing and/or recording your music?
I love to record everything immediately ‘cuz I think there’s nothing better and more authentic than a song written and/or played in the moment. Everytime I feel Inspired I press the record button and simply follow my gut.
Has your style evolved since the beginning of you career?
Definitely! Ive started in a pop-punk band, played in a nu-metal project than slowly became a really catchy alternative rock band. Moved to synth-pop to Indie. But I believe that every step that I made can be heard somehow in my latest project.
What do you enjoy most about being a musician?
The freedom of expressing myself through notes and melodies and that magical spark that I have every time I play live and I completely feel connected with the moment.
Playing live or recording in studio? Do you have a preference?
Playing live, hands down. As much as I love recording in studio there’s nothing better than playing my music in front of people.
Do you have a preference… vinyl records, cassettes, CDs, or downloads?
Vinyl records when it comes to listen to my favourite bands, otherwise downloads and streaming services.
Tell about a magical moment or positive experience that has happened through music.
I’ve been able to perform “The Kill” with Jared Leto in person while I was busking in the streets of London. He’s been one of my biggest inspiration since I started make music seriously and having that chance completely fullfill my heart.
Are there any musicians who inspire you? What qualities do you admire about them?
Jared Leto for his incredible work ethic, Chester Bennington for his voice and his ability to express every single emotions with his voice.
Would you like to travel to other countries to perform your music? If so, what would be your first stop?
Since I’ve started playing music I’ve been to NYC, London, Berlin, Florence. All these places thought me something and every single performance I did was different. If I could choose I’d love to go back to the USA, but playing in Japan has always been one of my biggest dream.
Are you currently working on any projects we should look out for?
My brand new single “17” will be available before summer, so if you’d like to discover a catchy indie-pop anthem for the summer, keep your eyes open!
Is there something you would like to say, that we didn’t cover?
