Alt-pop goddess and mental health professional Talon Majors packs a punch with relatable lyrics for real life.

‘I get as real and raw as I can so I can reach people who don’t have a voice. I want people in the LGBTQ community and those who have survived abuse to know they aren’t alone.’

Talon’s voice has been featured in film and commercial as well as most recently on a ‘Super-Group’ song with more than 20 other artists, to raise funds through UNICEF for the Ukraine.

Talon grew up in Colorado where she loved nature and all things outdoors. She moved to LA to pursue music and has written songs for many artists and bands.

She is also a social media influencer. Talon recently finished school to become a substance abuse counselor. She enjoys using her social media platform to connect with her fans on a personal level.

How long have you been creating music?

5 years

Do you have a preferred genre?

Alternative pop

Tell us about your latest song, EP, or album.

Talon teamed up with Jolly Karllson from the hit band Bad Omens to make a danceable and gritty pop punk banger! “My ex Jamsine will know this is about her haha!” Majors said. “I’ve avoided writing any love or breakup songs. This is my first. She broke my heart in a way I didn’t know was possible. It’s so bittersweet because now I have writing inspiration. The whole message is that someone can take everything from you right before your eyes. And the pain feels too good to stop them.” Jasmine features Jolly’s incredible guitar playing and of course Talon’s sassy vocals.

Are there any challenging aspects to writing and/or recording your music?

“My mental health is a constant work in progress. I live with anxiety and major depression. Sometimes I feel like me and can rock life! Other times it’s hard to get through the day. I I’ve had to go to recording sessions during depression episodes and it can be challenging. I can say it usually shifts my mood amazingly well!”

Has your style evolved since the beginning of you career?

“Yes! I used to be a drummer. Then I joined an indie rock band. After that I leaned heavy into alt pop and I feel at home here.”

What do you enjoy most about being a musician?

“I love having a platform to reach other people struggling with mental health. I love that my art can help them along their path as well. I’ve also really loved playing shows and seeing my songs on the big screen.”

Playing live or recording in studio? Do you have a preference?

I live to play live! Something takes over my body and I feel completely transformed when I step out on stage. I can feel the energy in my entire being. It’s intoxicating.”

Do you have a preference… vinyl records, cassettes, CDs, or downloads?

Personally? I’m a downloads person haha!

Tell about a magical moment or positive experience that has happened through music.

“I recently got to do a song with 30 other amazing musical artists to benefit the Ukrainian refugees. It was truly amazing to see so many big names in music come together for such an important mission. We did a Beatles cover, “Come Together”. We were able to raise thousands for the refugees. It feels great to be of service.”

Are there any musicians who inspire you? What qualities do you admire about them?

“I love Ella Fitzgerald for going against the grain during that time period. She didn’t let anything stand in her way. She really broke molds back then and I love her for that. Today, would be Lady Gaga. Again, someone who was told no time and again but never gave up. She a bad ass.”

Would you like to travel to other countries to perform your music? If so, what would be your first stop?

I would love to play in Germany. For some reason I have a solid fan base there so it would be fun to meet them.”
